To those that enjoy the ink stains...

"i am who i am... which is more than i used to be and less than i will become, a journey i'm capable of making alone but one made better by the echoes of like footsteps" (JCM)

Welcome to my inkwell. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the time we spend together. To say my muse is eclectic is an understatment. It cannot be captured in a single style. Life in my inkwell ranges from peasant poetry/prose in Elizabethan styles to more modern day free flow rants to carefully plotted iambic pentameter to shifting rhythms and prose written in Scot/Irish brogue but all are tied to the emotional underpinning of each piece. If you read for the emotional response, a deeper empathy I hope that you find all that you could hope for here.

In the future I will find a place for short stories and medieval or sci/fi fantasy that I enjoy writing as well.

So... put your feet up, relax, and enjoy.

Unison... Part I, God

Unison... Part I, God
There are times in a man’s life
when simple freedoms,
as deep as they may dwell,
do not soothe the beast...
or mend wounds kept silent...
those trapped in the farthest reaches of the soul...
where God walks and answers
quiet prayers of repentance
Where a man discovers the void
is a God shaped void and the pieces
missing are beyond the catchment
of humanity...  A place where subterfuge
cannot exist and truth bares humility
Where steel is relinquished and arrogance
willingly surrendered in trade for a moment
of forgiveness and sanctification,
Where the hand of his God soothes
his soul and an odd clarity brings
meaning where confusion once existed...
In this place of purity, the tabernacle
of the soul, the truest unison
between man and God occurs privately.
The once forsaken cleansed,
the once spiritually broken healed,
the once alone forever befriended...
and faith... uniquely defined by that
intrinsic relationship, echoes within
the resplendence of their communion,
forever changed

Unison... Part II, Woman...

Unison... Part II, Woman

There are times in a man's life
when simple freedoms,
as deep as they may dwell,
do not soothe the beast...
or mend wounds kept silent...
those trapped in the farthest reaches of the soul...
where God walks and answers
quiet prayers of repentance...
A place where words are only sounds
and  the fragrance of a woman speaks
to the spirit of a man.
Her gentle touch moving his heart,
releasing his tears, freeing the prisoner
to heal in the arms of his lover....
In this place... at that moment, the world shifts.
For an instant there is sense to existence.
That incredible communion...
A spiritual unison, balance in the blending,
between God, man, and woman...
A crescendo in life that echoes through eternity.
Whether sustained or lost,
once tasted, always remembered,
forever emulated in each echo thereafter
Such a precious gift,
Such a deep wounding
Where behind his eyes her fragrance resounds
and her memory shapes his soul...

Introduction...

I am in the process of getting the word out that I'm moving to this blogspot as well as sorting through several poems that were posted on myspace to bring them here.  It may take me a bit to get both accomplished.  I look forward to seeing you here and taking part in the transition.  Welcome again to An Inkwell of Curt :)  You all are appreciated!!
